This adventure tracks will offer you and give you an authentic & unique experience with multi-day trekking through the pristine rainforests, valleys, villages, mountain trails, camping in the forest, meet and staying with indigenous tribe in traditional houses, crossing rivers, but also give you a real moment driving far beyond to tourist traps using 4×4 off road car. Go for a reaal adventure trek to the Western part of Baliem Valley in Lani tribe region and experience the untouch paths up to altitude 3.200 high above sea level, will give you an apportunity to enjoy the spectacular views from its mountains, rainforest but also touch the savanna enviroment that will make you speechless and give you the unforgetable memory !

Trek Itinerary

Disigned For a Real Adveture Seeker !

DAY 01 – Upon Arrival In Wamena ( Mummy & Local Market )

Upon Arrival in Sentani airport (Jayapura), directly take the connecting flight to Baliem Valley-Wamena. Upon arrival in Wamena you will meet me Raymond as your tour guide and proceed to your booked hotel, check in and continue to Police Office to get your Travel permit and visit local market and visit Mummy in Jiwika village and return to Wamena while everything is being prepared by our tour team for the next day adventure trek. Dinner at local resto.

DAY 02 – Wamena – Puncak Mega – Dimba ( Muluneri Village )

After breakfast at the hotel, drive out heading to Puncak Mega. It takes about an hour and half to drop off you to start point. From here, we will start the trek down to Dimba District and continue trek all the way down along side the Yume river to Mulumbur village ( The main local settlement of Lani tribe ) and we will take a short trek up to Muluneri village, where you will overnight stay. Along the way, we will pass gardens, crossing rivers, pass some local villages, meet and talk with local people, stops for panorama photography and the lunch boxes will be served along the way on the top of Puncak Mega view point. Upon arrival at Muluneri village, you can learn, share and experience the dialy life of local people during the afternoon or after dinner. Note : at family house they do have sleeping aquipments but honestly, I would say that they are not clean enough so usually I bring Camping tents and set up insdie the room for my clients and I will do the same, provide and set up Camping tents insdie the rooms for your comfortable sleep. For dinner, cook & porters will handle the kitchen.

DAY 03 – Muluneri Village – Trek Up Into Rainforest of Kunume Ome / Twin Caves ( Camping )

After breakfast, continue the next hiking trek along the rainforest path, Padang trees ( Highland Jungle coconuts ), under giant trees, savanah enviroment and crossing Mulu river and local wooden bridge all the way up to Twin caves ( Kunume Ome ). Here in Kunume Ome we will set up a cam for overnight stay under the twin caves. The views along the way will make you speechless and enjoy the beauty and the uniqueness of the its environment. For lunch, we will fix your quick lunch at the Mulu river while you are swimming relaxing in the river before we continue trek up to the twin caves ( Camp Site ). Upon arrival at twin caves ( Camp site ), our team will set up tents and some will collect fire woods for cooking and warm up our bodies. Here at Kunume Ome ( Twin caves ) you are at altitude 2.800 high above sea level and its cold during the night even during the day so make sure you put on your sweathers or jackets to keep you warm. Generally the paths are challenging, walk at/on tree roots, muddy/slippery path, rainforest humidity path and wet death logs but overall this what makes adventure hiking trek is authentic and unique for unforgettable experience. Dinner will be prepared by cook and the team.

DAY 04 – Twin Caves ( Kunume Ome ) – Tugurik – Siwelo ( Central Local’s Graden ) – Linggira Village

After breakfast, we will start continue the trek along the savanah environmental to Mba-Mbawi ( The top View point about 3.200 high above sea level ). From here, we can see the Wamena city, Nduga region, Mamberamo region, Puncak Region and the Tiom city. Trekking here would be much easier ( Moderate ) until Tugurik the next view point, where lunch / coffee break will take place. After lunch at Tugurik view point, we will start trek down all the way to Nogi river and cross to the central local garden ( farming ) and we will walk passing the gardens, meet locals in the gardens collecting foods ( sweet potatoes, taros, corns, veges and fruits ) and from here we will keep walking for a few minutes to reach the Linggira village where we will overnight stay. During the free afternoon and night you can play with local kids ( there are many local kids here ) but also we will gather with local at the local traditional house / hut to share coffee/tea, local foods and the dinner but also learn and experience the living life of the local Lani tribe. Dinner will be prepared by cook and the team in the local kitchen. Note : You are given a choice to sleep either in Family simple modern house or sleeping at the local traditional hut. I am happy to hear from you and figure it out what we can do together when we are there.

DAY 05 – Tiom – Wamena

After morning breakfast, we will continue the trek down to pick up point and take a car transfer back to Wamena. But before we return to Wamena, we will visit Tiom, Lanny Jaya regency for a highland city tour and stop for lunch and coffee. After all, we will start drive back to Wamena. It takes one and half or two hours to Wamena. Upon arrival in Wamena city, check in at your hotel, enjoy hot shower, relaxing and wait for dinner. Dinner will be at the local resto. We will say good by to your team upon arrival at the hotel.

DAY 06 – Wamena – Jayapura ( Free Transfer )

After morning breakfast, take a free car transfer to airport, check in and catch your flight for the next destinations.
